UX Design / Usability Testing | March - June 2025
Hong Kong Stock Exchange
To refine user experience ahead of the market release of HKEX’s Issuer Access Platform, 57 workshop sessions were conducted engaging 118 participants across listed companies, advisors, REITs, and ETPs to reflect real-world use cases from— from corporate governance flows to capital movements and regulatory submissions.
What were the key objectives of conducting usability testing?
Introduce the Issuer Access Platform (IAP) to diverse market participants
Observe real-world usage through guided task testing
Gather feedback, identify enhancement areas, and the change management process
Refine user experience ahead of market release
Workshop Methodology
Over the course 3 workshop batches, I focused on:
Providing well-defined guidance to motivate participants, each session included an introduction to the platform, a demonstration of core task types, and a supported hands-on practice session.
Holistically developed workshop tasks to enable in-depth exploration of all submission flows, capturing constructive feedback from a diverse range of market participants.
Implementing continuous improvements through an iterative process, where insights from early workshop batches directly informed and refined the content and structure of subsequent sessions.
Learnings from discovery— What’s working well
Participants rated IAP an average SEQ score of 6.0 out of 7, presenting high usability and user satisfaction
Centralised records empowers visibility and accountability
Integrated compliance reminders to assist users with submissions

Outcomes & Deliverables
After completing 57 usability test sessions, data analysis was identified to write a cohesive visual report for presenting from Mirum UX team to the HKEX team
We provided key findings on recommendations for enhancement before platform launch such as:
Streamline corporate personnel change workflows
Ensure meeting regulatory requirements like adding a ‘Place of incorporation’ field to align with regulatory disclosure standards and separating the editing of the principal share registrar and the Hong Kong branch share registrar's name and address
Reduce submission errors features such as implementing a confirmation pop-up and reorder the additional information input field sequence
